Convocation each September marks the official welcome for new and returning students and a time of vocational affirmation for the assembled faculty, alumni/ae, and staff. Convocation 2005 on September 7 ushered in Union's one hundred and seventieth academic year with two vibrant speakers, Judith Davidson Moyers and Bill Moyers, both of whom were awarded the Union Medal during the ceremony.
