Rev. Amy Gopp and William Burnett

Our first speaker, Rev. Amy Gopp is currently Associate Director of Week of Compassion Ministries, the relief, refugee and development ministry fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a fund which reaches out to suffering people around the world. Rev. Gopp received her Master of Divinity degree from Union in May 2005. While a student at Union she co-founded Union's Poverty Initiative, a program devoted to training future religious leaders to overcome poverty and economic injustice in America more information on this program can be found on it's website www.povertyinitiative.org

Today we present her sermon entitled "Where is the Victory," Rev. Gopp delivered this sermon at Union's James Chapel on Monday, the 27th of Feb, 2006.

Our second speaker is William Burnett, faith community organizer of Picture the Homeless, an organization founded by Lewis Haggins, Jr., and Anthony Williams, both homelss men. Picture The Homeless is an organization dedicated to empowering the homeless to unite in a collective voice.
