Christopher Hedges Lecture
Chris Hedges Lecture
---------- SPECIAL LECTURE - Feb. 28, 2007 - 54:23 The Seminary welcomed veteran journalist and best sellng author Chris Hedges to campus to discuss his new book American Fascists The Christian Right and the War on America.
Since Christ wants to see things as more threatening now than ever, he needs I feel to think moe about how we fight the battle. I see nonidolatry as the root value and tolerance, democracy and helpfulness as the dynamic and interactive values it supports. Our problem on the side of the angels remains theological -- a move beyond Niebuhrian stasis without going too far. And maybe a little more attention to positive ways the battle is being waged online. We need to claim back some of the ground.
