McGuckin on the occasion of his installation as the first professor to occupy The Ane Marie and Bent Emil Nielsen Chair in Late Antique and Byzantine Christian History. Professor McGuckin, who has taught Early Church History at Union since 1997, also holds standing as Professor of Byzantine Christian Studies in the Religion Department of Columbia University.
